Hello again Lily. Listen, honestly, thankyou soo much for all the time and effort you spent searching. I have an idea that if i scan and send you a copy of Sydneys marriage cert, you might be able to decipher the surname of the first wife.Do you think that might be helpful? I would love to recieve the article reporting the death of Peter. I have never sent a PM before, would i be right in assuming that i just click on your name? If i could trouble you further, you gave me the names of Sydneys parents ..Henry Grant and Ann Bennett Peek. I have found them on 1891 and 1901 census, residing in Jersey on both but can find nothing earlier to enable me to trace back to thier parents. So any help on that score would also be very much appreciated. ..thanks again Lily,.. Sue x

To send a pm you do indeed just click on my name and it will open up a message box for you.
I'm happy to have a look at the scan of the marriage certificate and I'll see what I think but don't hold your breath. I'll send you a pm with my email address now.

Can't see a marriage on FreeBMD but there is this

Births Sep 1850 (>99%)
Peek Ann Bennett St. Germans 9 102

Apparently St Germans is in Cornwall

And this looks like them in 1861 at a place called Botus Fleming in Cornwall - you do get some good names to play with :-)

Name Age
Mary Bennett 82
James Bennett 50
William Peeke 50
Mary Peeke 52
Ann B Peeke 10

Hi Lily, all thanks to your last post, i am on a roll regarding the Peek/Bennetts! I have even found the marriage entry! I have Blacksmiths, a VICTUALER! (I think that means she ran an Offy!) and a Yeoman! I am as far back as Baby Jesus! You would'nt by any chance know who his parents are? Give yourself a hug...thankyou.. Sue x
