Hi erin.
I can only find census details of Nicholas Mcavady/Mcevady with Mary on 1871 details. That why i thought they were in Ireland before that date.
Address: No2, Court 4, off Garlick St Oldham. At this time Mary's father James Walsh/Welsh also lived withthem together with brother in law William Morris, although i cant see how he fits in....
have been looking at the Frizzell line this morning and found that Patrick must have died between 1881 & 91, his wife Mary remarried one Henry Bowls (also from Ireland) & they lived with just one of her children (Rose) born to Patrick. After 1891 they have dissapeared off my radar for now!

HI ERIN...
i too found the death of Patrick Frizzell at 1885, however at aged 49 yrs that puts his birth yr to 1836. Cross checked with the 1851/61/71/81 census info, it completely contradicts the recorded age(s) within the census's...confused!
I will look into the frizzell kids marriages...
Ihave been looking at ancestry.co.uk & freebmd.uk.org for the frizzell children... then seeing if there is anything relevant on GR...nothing matches so far....

Paul...I can see where you are confused with the age given at Patricks death and the ages stated on the previous Census...you need to use the information on early Census as a guide only and not as set in tablets of stone...Bear in mind also the person registering a Death may not have known hold old the person was...just took a guess...(My grandmother "lost 10 years" on her DC).

Got the MC for Patrick Frizzel & Mary Macintyre. It tells me their addresses but nothing else, no ages just "full" and perhaps they could not write as "X" marks the spot....
Still waiting for the McAvady & Walsh MC.......
Not sure where to start to look for Frizzel/Macintyre......both born Ireland somewhere around 1827 or so...
All the census records record birthplace as "Ireland"
Bit easier with Walsh / McAvady as at least I have the county names where they were from in Ireland.....

Hi Erin...happy new year....
Patrick's father's name was John Frizzle (Frizzell)...It seems they were also not able to read/write as MC displays "their mark" only.
Address I will have to confirm tonight when im home...
Nicholas Mcavady & Mary Walsh's MC arrived on sat. Again spelling variations on the name Mcavady / MacAvady / McEvady.
Marriage is dated Dec 1867
Nicholas aged 22 Mary aged 21
Address for both parties is "Water Street" oldham. - suggesting they lived together upon arrival from ireland. Still cant find any details from ireland....from Co Mayo & galway respectively.
Nicholas's father was Edward Macavady Mary's father was James Walsh

Info from the Frizzle/Macintyre MC....
Patrick's address - Whitehead Square Oldham
Mary's address - Duke Street Oldham
Marriage took place @ the Parish Church 1849.
Patrick's father = John Frizzle Marys father = John Macintyre
Patrick & Mary were illiterate which again explains the slight variations on the spelling of their names...
Im really struggling to find anything in Ireland. patrick & Mary both boarn there but all census info just states "Ireland not even the county.
MC states their ages as "Full" so i will probably have to get their DC's to find any more?
Can you recommend any lancs specific websites to look at for further info?
Im just starting to look into Ireland...they all want money the ones ive found so far...
I checked the current electoral role for Mcavadys in Oldham....dissapointing...none left...

OK to clarify what i know so far...
have worked the Mcavadys back to the 1st one in Oldham - Nicholas
Nick & Mary were the 1st Mcavadys to settle in Oldham circa 1860's
Cant yet find anything on Nick's side altho i have the irish county he was from
Seems Marys family (parents James & Bridget) brought her over as I have found her family Walsh on the 1861 51 & 41 census's
James & Bridget were both born in Co Galway Ireland and at 1841 they were in their early 20s. 21 approx and married - i believe in Ireland somewhere probably around 1836-1840
1841 census shows them living on Dale St Liverpool with one child Seragh B1841
1851 census shows them still in Liverpool residing at 235 Howard St. Now with Seragh (Anglesised into Sarah) aged 10yrs. Also other children - Catherine 7yrs, Mary 5yrs (my great great great grandmother - mothers side), Ellen ,11 mnths. James is a bricklayers labourer.
Sarah, Catherine, Mary, Ellen all born in Liverpool.
I cant be sure if i have the right james & bridget as mary's parents tho... altho the 1851 census puts mary at the right age as per her MC to Nicholas in 1867. I need to have abreak and check this lot again!
I cant seem to plot the move from L'pool to Oldham with the right family. I know the reasons, work/employment no doubt.
LIVERPOOL CONNECTION IS WRONG! different family
