It will be legal if it has the word , written Adopted on the right hand side of the birth certificate,even if it was an open adoption or private one.it would still go through the legal process,,,,,, |

It certainly wasn't done officially, or you wouldn't have been able to get her full birth cert. |

I will now try and work out where to go from here, ie how my mother was adopted, because I believe it was never done legally, done through a Dr. but that is about all I know. |

The tree on Ancestry obviously has the info as found, but that’s no proof that it’s the woman who gave birth to Jean in 1931. |

Lang tree on ancestry has the forenamed Eva/Evalyn. Lang death as 2004.also has same named parents. |

Not sure why people have been focusing on Evelyn Lang with a second forename. Unless the OP comes back to say that she gave a second forename when she registered the birth, there’s no reason to think she had one. |
