interestingly the John Smith a 4 on 1861 census (grandson) mother's maiden name was Smith - so who's son? |

arh i was thinking that john was married to a Ann Clarkson as their is a Ann Clarkson listed as her niece......just shows you can't jump to conclusions must be a more distant niece if you can do that |

This might not be relevant. Did a search for Smith and Moss Farm and these names came up, can't say how or if they are related. |

John and Joseph are still together in 1911, but I can't give more info as I haven't a sub. |

This is fantastic many many thanks Andy and barbara....i now intrigued about Joseph h smith and wondering if he maybe a connection to another part of the family which i thought was from Barrow as the barrow smiths had a daughter who came into service on a farm in cockerham - mary smith born 1916 and wondering now if it's more than a coincedence |
