Michael,

I would be very happy to take a look at the cert for you - I am usually quite good at deciphering difficult writing.

If you are able to scan it and e-mail me a copy I will pm you my e-mail address.

Let me know.

Dea & Christine
I have now recieved the marriage cert for Harry Hall at Norwich and it seems to confirm that this is the correct one although Harrys fathers middle name is different, the writing is difficult to make out it seems to be Henry its definitely not William as I thought. and his occupation is down as Baker which is the same as Harry jnr in the 1901 census, but the certificate does not say that the father is deceased which the 1901 census states, is this just an ommision or have I got the wrong family in the 1901?

I have also mentioned this marriage to my cousin recently and he remembers his father being extremely annoyed about a woman trying to claim her share of the family home after Harrys death as nobody knew anything about who she was, so obviously this must have been Lydia Jane.
I also mentioned to him the thought that Christine brought up about Harry being on a fishing boat in Lowestoft and he said that he remembers his father saying that after Harry came down to Fishguard that he had a fishing boat and as soon as his father was old enough he was made to go on the boat with his father and the younger kids had to go around selling the fish. So this also could have been a possibility I wonder if there any way of finding out?
I dont know how to thank you guys for passing on this info as I doubt if I would ever have worked it out for myself.

You're right Dea - I just love those ancestors who "disappear" and then reappear where you least expect them! I have spent my afternoon searching for two of my own absentees - in fact I'm just about to start a thread on them - but Harry has kept popping up to interrupt my thoughts.
We'll get him sometime ...

Christine - you are 'hooked' as well as me !!

Yes - a good chance they were away relaxing on a fishing boat with no thoughts for us all these years later looking for them !!!!!!!!!!

Just typical !!

One last thought on where Harry just might be - as his wife and family are in Lowestoft, isn't there a chance that he was out on a fishing boat? Yes, I know he should still be on the census returns but ...

Oh I am so glad that the1911 entry matches, and that Dea was able to find a marriage that ties it all up! I will keep searching for you-know-who ...

Brilliant Christine !!!! This is Lucy everything matches to my earlier info on the family, so that shows that she was still at home in 1911.

The elusive Harry must be hiding somewhere?

Thanks a million

Good morning Michael,

Well, the cert will at least prove whether this was 'your' Harry William, or not! - I DO hope so as you will not then have wasted your money.

It really does seem a strong possibility though so you have to get it.

I just wish I could find either of them on 1911 - I will keep at it and come back to you if I find anything.

Let us know when you get that cert.

Good morning folks 'grandads' back,

Any news?

Dea -- I will have to order this marraige cert to confirm that it is him, I suppose it would explain why he settled right across the far side of the UK, he couldn't have gone any further without falling into the Irish sea.
