Hi Brenda,
After many more hours searching, I'm reasonably confidant that, from your information on Alfred William Simmonds bOND 1875 Wokingham 2c 373, is not the same as William James Simmonds (Son of Daniel/Martha) bJFM 1875 Ruscombe/Wokingham 2c 384.
Furthermore, through your help, I have found that we have a close connection with Alfred William (We knew him as "Uncle Billie"), "Aunt Jess" matches his wife Jessie and, although not knowing about "Kate" 1899, we have very fond memories of "Uncle Sid" Sidney 1910, never married, lost a leg and died 1956 (aged only 46). My gran Catherine Margaret Meads (Simmonds, D/Martha) went to live next door to them in Marlow after her husband Harry died in 1948. Gran lived upstairs, while "Uncle Sid" had groundfloor rooms as a Bespoke Tailor to the gentry.
Cannot find any information for Alfred William in the 1881 and 1891 census before marriage, so now ordered the marriage certificate to find his father to really sort things out. I do have the 1881 census information for Jessie's family.
I now have (some more, some less) information regarding 16 Simmonds families, plus what I have to sort from todays searching. So if I can help someone else!
Daniel/Martha's John Charles and Annie details still seems to elude me at the moment.
Oh, am I correct that D and M's Henry 1873 married Agnes Sarah Pithers1882. Reg: Eton 3a 1431? Again from information from you,

He is indeed a lucky man, I don't usually come on this board, did today and this one caught my eye, Terrance must have given up on finding a living rellie who could possibly help.

I've got the parish records for Nettlebed too so just about to have a look to see if I can find Daniels birth for him, can we get lucky twice in one day. Also live in Marlow myself so might even be able to get photos for him. Off to have another delve

Sarah was born, according to the 1861 census in Nettlebed about 1817, I'll look for her now. Robert senior was born about 1820 in Whitchurch Oxfordshire, no disc for that so can't look for him. I can't find a marriage for them in Nettlebed either

Thanks again Barb for the latest information. Regarding the death of Phyllis June Allen, I have saved all the quarters from Kenneth's birth, AMJ1952 to OND 1966. Maybe it was a little later, I have my doubts. I would not want anyone spending their time going over that which I have searched. I should go through the lists again and see If I have missed it.

I have yet to search for the deaths of Alfred William (bRuscombe 1876) and Jessie Simmonds (bMarlow 1875). ( I expect thier mariage certificate to arrive in a few days, to show who his father was). I think they died after their son Sidney (bBisham 1910) died prematurely in 1956. (Details of the family in 1911 are shown on page two of this column, (from Brenda).
