I cannot see that there is any way round you NOT buying the marriage cert - it will tell you her fathers name - if its joseph then quite likely she is the Piddington Girl, if not, you are back to square one

in the 1911 census it has Rose as being born in Northampton, but what i don't understand on the census they have her down as COCKIN MAY ROSE, and her son as COCKIN WILLIAM CHARLES GARDNER, now William was his fist name, but Rose's first name was Rose not May.?

Penny Report 31 Jul 2009 19:07

Basically , because thats what she told them - her death is registered as May Rose too

I know i just had i quick look, but what also confuses me is that her second oldest daughter is also called May,(i know she could have just like the name but i was thinking how they tended to call their children after the parents) but i know for a fact on her grave stone i visit it,it states Rose May.

Me again i've just talked to one of Roses children and they had her death certificate where it states that she was Rose after all (its nice to know i've got that bit right) and she was born 21 graften place northampton 1883.It also has her mothers name on it as Martha Marie Agar. Not quite sure how to spell surname.

Thanks for all the information Minnie. I did find Henry married to a Sarah Lovell 1846,and a Sarah Ager did die 1860. I also did find him married to a Sarah Wood (at least he won't get the name wrong).

it states that Sarah is a visitor, but i don't understand the Martha M Doger it states she is Henry's daughter, so will she be the Martha Ager i am after.?
