Hi Lorraine,

Thanks for the look up offer.

I wonder if you can find Edward Alfred Parker on the 1930 USA census, I have him on the shipping list arriving in New York (from Penang) on 20/05/1929, aboard the 'Bowes Castle' - his destination was Orlando, Florida.

I have letters written by him from Orlando, but they only have a post box number, the 1st one dated 21/07/1929, so no help as to exactly where he was in Orlando.

Edward was born in 1880 in Devon, UK.

I would really appreciate any help you can turn up on Edward, the 1930 USA census is the last thing I have to solve in the mystery he left behind when he left my Grandmother and children in Melbourne after returning from WW1.

Many thanks,
Mardie.

Hi Lorraine,

I wasn't 100% sure that 'Stella' was travelling with Edward......It looks like this is the proverbial 'skeleton in the cupboard' !

If they were married (which it looks like they were) it was bigamy.
My Grandmother Alice May Parker refused to divorce him (her being RC) right up until 1940 that I know of.

After Edward left Alice and the children (my mother was the youngest child) in Melbourne, he was in sydney for a few years, thats when he would have met Stella and maybe married her, then he went to manage tin mines in Siam and Malaysia.

Edward was a professional soldier RFA until 1916 and was recalled for duty in the UK (from Florida) in 1940, he never returned to Australia and died in Shadoxhurst Kent in 1956

I have an address for him in 1931...Captain E.A. Parker. c/o Dr K.F.Vail. The Log Cabin, Lockhart, Florida...Would it be possible for you to look up this K.F. Vail for me please Lorraine.

Also would it possible to see if there was a marriage to Stella, some time between 1920 - 1929 in N.S.W.

Thank you so much for your help Lorraine.

Wonder where they were when the census was taken??

I may not get back until morning, it's 9PM here in Sydney.
Regards Mardi.

Hi,
I am trying to find the records of Walter Tagg, born 1864 in London. His sons Donald Tagg born 1916 in Ocala, Florida and Charles Tagg born 1914 also in Ocala, Florida.
I am after any records of them retuning to England, I would think sometime after 1918, as that's when the wife/mother died.
I know they did return, but can find no records.

Many thanks for any info,

Viv

Lorraine,

The wife was Olive Kate Attfield born 1878 in Guildford, Surrey. I know she died in Duval, Florida 1918. Which is why I say Walter and sons came back to England sometime after this.
The full names of them are Walter Thomas, Charles Floyd and Donald Walter if this helps with the searching.

Thanks
Viv
