We need to be careful here, neither the husband nor the children maybe aware of this data.

I would suggest we wait for Samantha to get her original birth cert and she comes back with the mothers full name.

I am with Wayne here, we cannnot just guess the BM's names, there are at least 4 I have found till now.

It may also be possible that she did not marry and Samantha would be following the wrong lead again.

Samantha I have sent you the ref number, you need to get a copy of this cert and then get back to us., given that you where adopted in 1975 you maybe able to pick the cert up if you live locally :O)

Hi

The 1975 marriage was in the right area and I have found that couple plus two children living now in a different part of the country.

Hope Samantha gets her birth certificate and comes back here for help or to tell us the outcome.

As you say we don't want to guess the BM's name.

We may never know.

ok guys i have now got my birth certificate and all that we had assumed apperas to be wrong my mothers full name was LINDA ANN HAWKES and she was born in SUTTON,SURREY.I have looked back as far as 1949 which would have made her 25ish when i was born and as far4 forward as 1961 which would have made her 13ish young i know but i cannot find any names that are an exact match.Would you guys have any more luck.I m afraid there are no birth fathers details on the cert, which means that the bloke who was with her either wasen't my father or did'nt want to be named.Lets remember i could be the result of a not very nice sexual encounter so she may not even know the father.

Hi Samantha,

I, too, was adopted. My birth parents were married and had a daughter who is 3 years older than me. My parents split up when my mother was pregnant with me and I was put up for adoption. I have traced my biological mother, but my biological father is proving to be elusive.

Try not to beat yourself up over this. I know how you feel, you just want some answers and know who you are.

I have found many blood relatives through this site. Have you tried finding your birth parents on this site??

I wish you luck in your search.

its dangerous to assume - dont ever assume anything - find facts, check them & double check them.

not sure where on YOUR birth cert it will tell you where your mother was born! how have you worked that out?

have you applied for your adoption file - it may tell you more, possibly the circumstances surrounding your adoption.

Hi Samantha,

I read your post with interest. I was also adopted, my parents were married and couldn't understand why I was adopted. I have found out that my parents were related and married falsly, I was taken away against my parents wishes.

Hope you find what you are looking for

Hi,
Samantha may well be correct in what she says. I've just looked at a birth certificate (1987) where the birth took place at the hospital.
It asks for the name and surname of the father and place of birth, the child's name and the name and surname of the mother and place of birth.
Finally, the usual address for the mother and usual address for the father if different from place of child's birth.
