I've had no success whatsoever in locating Eliza Jane Webber (born Bondleigh, Devon in 1887) on either the 1901 nor 1911 census returns. |

I see that Eliza is with Elizabeth on the 1891......maybe Elizabeth got married after 1891 and Eliza is on the 1901 with Elizabeth under Elizabeths married name......But when Eliza married she went back to her name of Webber |

Yes that makes sense - I've just had a quick look at marriages on bmd for Elizabeth Webber but no name 'rings any bells'. |

just checked 1901 census for Elizabeth Kingsland - her place of birth was given as South Tawton and not Bondleigh and there's no mention of Eliza only children produced from her marriage to James Kingsland ... |

It is so strange that I cannot find Eliza Jane on the 1911 census, I feel even if she did 'adopt' another surname in 1901 (if Elizabeth had remarried) I feel she would have reverted to her Webber surname in 1911 when she would have been working, probably in Surrey or Hampshire area. |

This is about the only Devon Elizabeth of the rightish age going in 1901 in the Haslemere area: |

Yes, yes ladies that definitely sounds like Elizabeth in 1901 - so it seems highly that Eliza Jane would be somewhere in the area - just where?? |

Could she be one and the same, and have been enumerated with both sets of grandparents in 1891? |
