Does the original entry of Jane 1891 look anything like Jesse or do I need an eye test.

Can you see Johns Father. I have him as William 1831.

Just gone back through records.
Got wrong parents for Fred, Rose and William (DOPE).
Jane Henley in 1881 is down as Sarah J Henley (nee Boarder).
Father is John Henley 1853--1890.
Need to do a lot more checking.
All my lot kept changing their names.

I have the same info but have Jesse aged 51 as Duckbreeder in 1891.

Cant work this out.
Jesse married elizabeth tibbit,Mother was elizabeth Hubbins nee Henley but have only found 1 jesse in Eaton bray.

Address in 1881 was Grays Yard Edlesborough.

Could it be that I have miss read Jesse for Jane on the original entry for Gammons lane.

1891 Hunley is 54 Gammons Lane Jane is a widow and a duckbreeder!

All of my info on census from Eaton Bray comes from fische film at Dunstable Library . In1891 I have Frederick, Rose and William living with their father Jesse (widow) in Gammons Lane. I do have a Jane from around 1855 who was Jesses cousin but she was born in Eaton Bray.


Not seen the hunley entry so will check again.

I have seen people entered twice on same census before like Ruth Henley 1860 on the 1881 census.
Is this a common event.

Jan - from the image, 1891 - that HUNLEY is indeed HENLEY, clear as day.

(You want to make the correction at Ancestry??)

HARMESON is actually HARRISON.

But she's single, and there wouldn't seem to be any reason for the different surname.
