Find Ancestors

Lets discount the Hills, I cant remember which but it did appear on a website as Hills. This is certainly the correct family, so now I have a GG Aunt and Uncle( cant trace my mother so I will make do with Aunts and Uncles

There is a long thread on my mother,she was born in India, her father was serving there with the Seaforth Highlanders, year of birth 1906, name Diane Leslie Macleod. The earliest trace I can find of her is when she married my father Herbert Robert John Roy in London in 1929, her father was Robert Macleod,thank you for your interest

Rootgatherer I dont think I am ever going to know my roots on my mothers side and it does sadden me, it has always been my dearest wish to know my roots but at 76 I feel time is not on my side.Thank you anyway.

my husbands grandmother is Louisa Roy, she married Thomas Garrett. I have just started the family tree so have only just found this section on Genes . Most of my information is an ancestery.com Yes indeed the last remaining son of Louisa and Thomas is alive and kicking. He is 96 in a couple of weeks.

Here I am in France and have been having problems with wifi,
I have sent P M to Janice and am all excited and waiting for a reply
from her. who knows Frank bless him may even have news of Diane, thats if he ever met her, he could even have seen me as a baby.

I have sent another PM to Janice but sadly have had no replies to either PM and dont know how else to get in touch with her

Janice and I are now in touch and yes we have got the correct family, thank you everyone for all your help, this would never have happened without your help.
I still cannot find my mothers roots though and that still bothers me a lot, however I must not be greedy.
