Reuben in 1841
1841 Census
Name: Reuben Cleall Age: 65 Estimated Birth Year: abt 1776 Gender: Male Where born: Dorset, England Civil Parish: South Perrot Hundred: Bridport Division Beaminster Forum and Redhone County/Island: Dorset Country: England Registration district: Beaminster Sub-registration district: Netherbury

Unfortunately, the 1841 doesn't give the relationships, so is Sarah Reuben's sister??? She seems to be living in a separate part of the house.

You can go to familysearch and trace Roger Cleal and his children, and see if you can get any further back. It's all free .... but most of the records do seem to be submitted, which means thye have to be treated with caution.

You girls are doing a great job for me.Thank you Gerri and Sylvia. I got up this morning all excited to see if there was anything else on here and had a nice surprise. It's just as good as it was when I started my history in 2005. Must say I have helped a few to get started myself and get a kick out of it. Keep up the good work ladies and ...thank you very much.

Lots of information,Gerri and Sylvia,am just going through it. I wonder if I could give you another challenge? The Simon Pavey born c 1797 obviously went to the East Indies where he met Elizabeth Sippins, and it looks as if the 3 children before Hannah were born there.....now my friend thinks that the story came through her family that there was a coloured woman somewhere in the family, but she mentioned the West Indies, and was hoping to find something in the Carribean as she has a lot of friends there...but it is obviously East Indies. I think we had a military presence there in the early 1800's,also could it be to do with the East India Company. If you look in could you give me some thoughts on this. Thank you for everything.

Brenda,
I have no idea
I looked on familysearch, and there is no record of either Simon or Elizabeth.
I would assume he was either with the East India Company or the British Army ..... the 1851 census did say he was a "Pensioner".

There are some Public and Private Member Trees on ancestry.com that have Simon Pavey in them.

Hello Gerri, I am here...Thank you for your message I wasn't on genes much yesterday as I had a lot of work to do and went shopping and waiting for a phone call from Oz as my d'i'l there went into hospital to have a hysterectomy.
I have had a look at gen forum and found a few people of the Pavey family and have sent messages, but not heard anything yet.
I have also looked at National Archives and found Simon Pavey of Yarcombe as soldier/servant 13th Jan 1835,so this would suggest that he was sent to the East Indies by the military and not to do with the East India Co.(If this is the one, which seems likely). These records are in the Devon Record Office.Unfortunately I can't get there, but my friend might be inspired to go to Devon on holiday. She is in Spain at the moment and doesn't know what has been found. What a nice surprise when she comes back!
Thank you for your interest and help.
