thank you for explaining colette,i cou;ldnt do it myself the other day as i was rather shocked at the reaction i got,yes i understand that this research is expensive and im gratefull to all the people who looked up for me(i thanked everyone for every bit of info that was given)this isnt all one sided in the four years that ive been a member ive also helped lots of people at my own expence, but this is what the site is all about,we help each other.
im sorry if i got over excited, but after searching a family for four years and even going up to scotland for research and then finding your rellie may have lived on your doorstep is a big shock.
ive just been been on my thread and noticed that certain people have deleted their coments, was this before or after your post?i have no bad feeling now,you know why i got excited about the jane silcock ref,but i didnt want to mention it as members were already saying that i was making things up to fit, thats not true, but hopefully i may have some good news to post soon.x

I am so glad that is quantfied Collette, Thank you.

I am surprised tha you didnt spot ( Source Citation: Class: RG13; Piece: 3493; Folio: 55; Page: 14. )
though - unusual for you!

Appreciably Ella might well be Eleanor, but we have found an Ella which we hope fits the bill.

I hope suzann has gone on & looked at that marriage ( again an Ella , Right place, appropriate time) and will hopefully go on from there.

I dont have any illl feeling - was just feeling frustrated,

Hi Girls can i just add something to all this.. i was the one who found a HOPE ISABELLA MACDONALD B 1898.. and told Suzanne it was Isabella Hope so i am to blame for that..

The only real info Suzanne had was the name Ella McDonald and the birth cert for her Grandfather in 1915 Ronald McDonald..and she was told by family that Ella was 17 years old in 1915..so that makes her born c1898.

Suzanne had assumed she had found an Isabella McDonald in Toxteth in 1901 parents Andrew & Ann, and had followed this family..But when i found the Hope Isabella McDonald and you guys found her father to be called Ronald plus the Wavertree area.. that seems to make more sense and fitted better..

I have said to Suzanne we can't just assume we have the right girl. Ella could be short for Eleanor ..Ellen, , Nelie.. or Isabella etc..the Beaconsfield Rd address where Ella's son Ronald was born needs checking out and i am onto that as we speak a mate of mine has a 1915 directory..

I am sure Suzanne is very grateful for the 1911 census details.. she was just trying to work out all this new information and get it into some sort of order..

Regards Colette

Suzanne.
Just apologise and admit you were wrong so everyone will be happy.

I know you were frustrated but so were the members doing look ups for you.
At least now you know who your family are.

Suzanne Report 26 Apr 2009 10:01

i am gratefull, ive told you that through the whole thread, ive thanked you and thanked you.what else am i ment to do?

Penny

Penny Report 26 Apr 2009 07:31

Just in case you are interested, it looks like Ella MARRIED in 1916, maybe that is why she gave him away.
In the same year she had her grooms Daughter. so he has a half sister
look it up on freebmd, or Ancestry.

BTW
Wouldnt you get exasperated if someone kept teling you you were wrong, when you are doing your best to help them & get them onto the right track?

you made statements like

''minnie,go back to page one,you said IN THE SAME HOUSEHOLD AS ISABELLA HOPE MCDONALD were annie macdonald age 26,
isabella mcdonad age 46 did you not,so there where two isabella mcdonalds in the house, one was 13 and one was 46 am i right''

no I didn't.- no you are NOT right!
I should have wasted £6.95?
Should I have left you up the wrong tree? - not in my nature, sorry.

So here you sit, all hard done by, when actually you are not hard done by at all. We got you on the right track, after as you say ''spent 100's of pounds'' going up the wrong one.

You are not going to come back & ask again because you ar all hurt. YOU ARE HURT? I wouldnt be hurt - I'd be excedingly gratefull

Suzanne

I have read through this whole thread, and while I regret that you feel the way you do ...... I do see why Minnie and Ricochet got so exasperated.

You were telling them how wrong they were with what they were finding, while insisting that what you knew was correct.

I also wonder if you realise just how expensive looking up information on the 1911 can be.

Yes, it is free to do an initial search, but if you want to know any more than is found in that initial search it costs 10 credits to look at the transcript and 30 credits to look at the actual census image ......... and 60 credits cost £6.95

THAT is the reason why no-one is offering to do searches on the 1911 .... we can barely afford to do it for ourselves let alone others.

Then you kept telling them they were wrong, because you were making assumptions to fit your "facts"??????????????

BTW ..... I also know Liverpool, even though I now live in Canada ....... and I found that a very condescending remark!

see how something might come over when you can't see body language?

I regret that you feel you were badly treated, and that you feel that you will not ask for help on the baords again.

look im just excited to be getting some info at last, its very frustrating not to be able to do it my self, ive thought for all this time that she came from scotland, ive she was born in liverpool and lived in wavertree rd that would make so much sence,i dont know if you know liverpool at all?but i was born in wavertree rd,my grandfather lived with his adopted family in wavertree rd and my mum and her sister(his daughters)were brought up in wavertree rd,so it makes sence,i said earlier on that i think that ive been barking up the wrong tree, barkng up the wrong tree has cost me a lot of money, its a shock to find who i think is my family in liverpool and not scotland.thank you to everyone who has helped.

Because we were saying ''No thats not right'' and you kept telling us you were sure it was!

Of all the macdonald in lancashire , you choose the one called Ella! There are only 4- thank god his mothers name was Ella not Jane or Mary.

if you dont want to get peoples backs up, listen to what they are saying - we were trying to help you, believe it or not.

Suzanne

Suzanne Report 25 Apr 2009 22:47

and also if you look on the 1901 there is hundreds of mcdonalds in liverpool, which one do you chose?you were closest minnie, scroll back and have a look,im sorry if i upset anyone but i really dont know how i upset you, just getting excited at all the info coming through, ive thanked you all for your info all the way through,so what did i do to get your backs up?why the sarcastic comments?anyway again thanks for the help.x
