David but only a link if that is the right Florence?

I would be more inclined to think it's the one who was a patient in 1911.

My reason for thinking that is this. IF it's the other Florence, who married 1920 she waits a further 11 years after she gave Albert away to marry and didn't ( apparently) have other children in that time. It's my experience that mothers who give a child away 'usually' have another child soon after. That is of course debateable.

I wouldn't pay much store to the connections to a Morris...they are legion in Cheshire and totally unconnected to south Wales.

OK, have a good link (I hope) with Lydia Morrissy, so that route seems as if it may pay off.
Looking at the fact that Florence had a sister Gertrude who married an Edmund Morris in 1907, two years before Florence gave birth to my Dad albert. Could this be the link between Crewe and London? James Gray Morris lived in London but came from Swansea. I have looked here and find their children as:

and shall now look for marriage/children of these people. Edmund (1876) was born in Nantwich, nowhere hear Swansea and was the son of Thomas Morris and Martha (nee Potts) and in addition to Edmund had the following children who I will now investigate further.

Have you bought any certs? Other than your father's birth cert.............

BUT.. Some questions simply can't be answered, and no matter how frustrating, one sometimes simply has to accept this.

If the woman who raised your father couldn't/wouldn't say anything about Florence, it's unlikely that anyone else will have the info you are seeking. And if Florence did subsequently marry, having given away your father, I would be surprised if she told her husband about him.

Hi ErikaH, yes I think I have done all I can think off at present and most if not all of all suggestions from everybody else and I have got further BUT still do not have the answers I need!

As a simple start and as nobody called Bailey (Florence Bailey of West Street Crewe born 6 July 1886, is who I need to nail down as my blood grandmother!) has ever replied I am looking from a different angle.

Michael Morrissy - born 1947 & in 2009 Electoral Role at 90 Oak Road Cheadle SK18 1EJ, with his father Frank at same address. Frank had married Irene Street who was a daughter of Florence Bailey. Michael's sister Lydia Morrissy born 1949 and married a William Clews born 1949 in 1973. All Cheshire.

All of the below also come from the Bailey line in one way or another.

Jeffry Westwood born 1947 in Cheshire,

David Street born 1952 & his brother Kevin born 1955 in Stockport, Cheshire. I have a possible lead on Kevin from a Clair Street and Robert Colborn and await responses from them.

Only someone directly connected will 'know' anything. Everyone else would have to do the research.

How much research have you done yourself? Have you looked in 'search all member trees' on here?

As these men are likely to be living, discretion is vital.

Nothing that I can pinpoint .

It's amazing how many people there are with those names.

There are various marriages , and ER entries, of people with those names - but no way of knowing if any of them are for those particular people, without buying the certs, which isn't a practical proposition.

As people move around so much nowadays, they could be living anywhere, and also could have married anywhere. The fact they were born in Stockport isn't a helpful clue, although a couple of generations ago it would have been.

Looking for David Street born 1952/Kevin Street 1955/Jeffery Westwood 1949

All had grandparents Harry Street and Sarah Jane Bailey. Sarah Jane was the sister of Florence Bailey who married Thomas Street, Harry's brother.

Anybody know anything?

Continuing from above: Irene possibly married a Frank Morrissy in 1944 and had two children, Michael b June 1/4 1947 and Lydia b Sep 1/4 1949. Both of these would be my cousins (half!).
