I've got similar in my tree - first cousins had a child. The cousins parents were sisters. Its complicated putting it on the tree. |

I've been mulling over all the information and I've come to the conclusion that the evidence points to Jane being the mother of Frederick George Lathwell. George(on the marriage certificate) being the father and they weren't married. The reason is I think they are first cousins! William Lathwell was Georges father and Sarah Lathwell was Janes Mother and they were brother and sister! Anyone heard of that before? |

Thanks for all your help. I would have never found the people I was looking for in the 1871 census. Satherick, Sathwill completely misread. When I read the actual sheet it is Lathwell, thanks again. |

The only thing that makes me a little bit unsure is the birth certificate with no father on it! |

That was my thinking and I have all that in my tree. The mystery is the marriage(if it happened) and what happened to Jane. It could also be George Lathwell married Jane lathwell and that was her maiden name as well. There are a lot of Lathwells in Leighton Buzzard and Eggington(village 3 miles away). |
