Find Ancestors

It looks like we might never know the reason why Florrie Chatterway changed her name to Florence Amy Baker, I think it's safe to say they were one of the same person but I think we are up against a brick wall with this line.
On another note Lindsey found a Stephen Mitchell head in 1901 census married to Ellen with son Stephen and daughters Beatrice, Rahael, Daisy ect which mated up with the two witnesses on my grandfathers marriage certificate, which means that it could be my great grandfather and mother.
I have tried myself to find this record in 1901 census on GR but cannot find it? I would like to follow this up and see where it leads me because it's my line. Can you help?

The reason you cant find the 1901 is there is only one L not 2 ?
Spelling is everything !

Julies tree on ancestry is ambigous too so no help there. I'm still puzzled as to why Lewis would be in a manchester regiment and not the one in Bradford his home town. I'd like to get to Kew and have a nosey !

Does that mean where you have Stephen Mitchell 21 on 1891 census and Rachel Mitchell age 57, that Rachel is the mother of Stephen? also is there a marriage between Ellen and Stephen Mitchell?

No we are looking at stephens Dad, check the year of the census,

and he never quite gets his age right !

yes Stephens dad, my Great Grandfather which means that Rachel was my Great Great Granmother?

Rachel is the mother of Ann mead and stephen on that census yes.

But having said that she could just as well be a step mother until proved otherwise !

and Mary as per 1851 census, also between Stephen Mitchell and Ellen as per 1901 census.

On Ancestry military - British Army WW1 Service Records - there is also an Arthur Stephen Mitchell - living at 14 Railway Terrace, Stratford new Town with wife Florence Mary Ann nee Pipe. they were married 11/10/1913 St Andrews Poplar.

Do you have the marriage certificate for Arthur Stephen Mitchell's 2nd marriage to Florence West? This would also show who his father was hopefully - just to confirm the details on the first marriage?
