Find Ancestors

Thankyou lancashireann, I wonder how many more people are struggling to find records. Think im going to try and stick to just putting surnames in and area and year. As putting in first names sometimes misses people out.

Sometimes it is worth just putting in the surname and date of birth and seeing what it comes up with. With surname different spelling and mistranscriptions I sometimes wonder how we find anything!

Nevermind I found my great grandad whom ever transcribed the records did it wrong and added an extra (N) onto John Darby's name so it says JOHNN Darby 1902.

John H Darby born 30 December 1901 Registered 1902. Parents where John H Derby born 1874 and Margaret Walsh c1871. John H Derby and Margaret Walsh married 30 October 1897 at St Cuthbert, Darwen. I know that these where his parents as I have his Birth Certificate. I decided to do a look up on 1911 Census but couldnt find him. I found the rest of the children which where Ann c 1899, Albert 1903, Robert 1905, Ethel 1907, Frank c1909 and Edward 1910 all Blackburn Lancashire. But when I put in John Darby 1901 or 1902 nothing comes up. Would anyone know where he is as he would of only been 10 0r 11 at the time. Please help

can't find the boys on the igi. maybe the batch containing their baptisms has not been put on as they were all born after the girls

Ive just found baptism records on IGI for Ameila Darby in 1886, Sarah Darby in 1880, Fanny Darby in 1884, Mary Darby in 1882 and Emma Darby in 1878 and I only found those records because I put Mary Easy Warden in the search. So I was wondering on how I find the boys baptism records if the girls are registered then the boys must be as well. William Derby/Darby 1888, Robert Derby/Darby 1889 and Herbert Easey Derby/Darby known as Henry 1891. thankyou all again

I did not notice that John Henry darby was living next door with his wife alice. I did note down all marraiges that happened in darwen and have just assumed that they are all related . yes I read it and will remember that one. A lot of my research involves people in the cotton industry and I had got to grips with doffers and 'power loom weaver (bottom)' but had not seen rover before.

there is this on the igi and St cuthbert's is the church Alice darby and John warden married (see lan-opc.org.uk)

I was just wondering if it is at all possible that alice darby born 1870 might of got married to a John warden in 1892. Its just that in the 1901 census there is an alice warden and john warden with a child whom has the middle name easey and I thougt that it might correspond with William Darby and Sarah Easey and there last child was named Herbert Easey Darby but was known by being called Henry.

Yes William Darby born Cambridgeshire 18 oct 1850 parents where a John Darby 1822 and Elizabeth Cawthorn c1816 and John darby's Parents where a John Darby not sure on birth year and Sarah Hall marriage in 1812.
