Good grief Michelle - how do you do it - they all wrote Bincombe - I have hunted around Bincombe for days - just to get rid of the dreaded (mother) record - it turns out to be Winterbourne St Martin - Martinstown - as I read down the records - and saw Martinstown births - I expected Frederick Turner to pop up
What more can I say but thank you so very much - you have done Bessie Jane proud

I am not 100% on Ann, i did wonder because she was not with the family on the 1841...so wondered if his first wife had died? But the 1861 was interesting with the Bowring surname. There are a couple of deaths before 1840 for possible first wives if this is the case. Think 1 was Ann and the other was Jane.
Remember to always verify information with certs. Hope this has helped with that brick wall :)
Ah just seen your message...glad you are happy :)

I don't know? I use Ancestry the mistranscript i found through my methods i use for hard to find people. The 1871 came up fine on Ancestry and the rest of the information i found through that record. Each site does vary, 1 record you can find on 1 you might not find on the other. Main thing is you have the information and make sure to get certs to verify it.

Not much luck with that 1841...the 1841 is a difficult census as being the first there were many errors in it. In later census if people were not in when visited they were followed up, this did not alway happen on the 1841. There are many strays on this census, people who were not recorded. I found a possible for Mary Ann...maybe working in this house? She is listed as not born in the area she was in at the time. Which is true as she was born in Kent.
1841 England Census about Mary Ann Walker Name: Mary Ann Walker Age: 15 Estimated birth year: abt 1826 Gender: Female Civil parish: St James Hundred: Westminster County/Island: Middlesex Country: England Street Address:
Occupation: View image Registration district: St James Westminster Sub-registration district: St James Square Neighbors: View others on page Household Members: Name Age Elizth Carter 50 William Tuell 55 Charlotte Tuell 50 William Williams 50 Margaret Moreley 30 Sophia Arthur 30 Caroline Barton 20 Elizth Towle 25 Eliza Compton 25 Maryann Johnson 20 Caroline Telbot 15 Ann Ellins 20 Mary Ann Walker 15 Henry Lewis 25 Mary Coles 25 Elizth Gardner 20 Emma Plaus 15 Elizabeth the head was a Dressmaker
Will see if i can find anything else...but i have spent quite some time looking.

Hi Michelle,
Thank you ever so much for looking for these elusive ancestors of mine. I really appreciate all the time that you have spent looking. You are a star. The one of Mary Ann does look promising I will look further into that. In 1846 when Mary Ann gets married John Walker has his occupation as gentleman so less likely that she would be working.
Thanks again Liz

Yes it is less likely. Although saying that i had an ancestor listed as a Gentleman and his daughter did work. I think this maybe a case of strays from the 1841 sadly. There is no sign of them. I am unsure with regards missing census parts on the 1841, this maybe an option? Most census years have missing parts. Good luck with your tree.

Hi Michelle Please would you look up Dorothy Breese who was born Lambeth or Wandsworth 1906, parents Frederick Breese and Nellie Smith. She married in 1940s Richard (Dick) Smith and they lived on a farm in Wantage, Berkshire, they had a son called John about 1945. Then in 1960s she moved back to Colliers Wood, and died in 1960s. Thanks Sandra

Thanks

Hi Michelle I only know that Dorothy Breese was born 1906 (on Freebmd) and her mother Nellie Smith (born 1870 Reading) married George Long in Lewisham in 1893. George Long died in 1905, then Nellie Smith married Frederick Breese in Lambeth 1906, also their daughter Nellie Breese was born 1908 Wandsworth. Nellie Smith died 1944 in Wandsworth, age 75. I think that Dorothy Breese lived in Wantage at least until Frederick Breese died in 1955 in Wantage, he was born West Beckham, Norfolk. Nellie Smith was in 1901 census married to George Long with children Gladys, my Grandma and also Alfred. George, Edith and Eiza, who I don,t have much info on. I think that Alfred and George may have died in the war, there don't seem to be any children. Thanks in advance for any help, Regards Sandra

HI Michelle,
Wondered if it would be possible for you to do couple of census look ups for me,
The first is for Samuel Stone i dont have his exact year of birth i believe it was approx 1826 and his wifes name was Hannah born c1822 both at weston-on-trent, they married in 1848, i would be grateful for any census's that you can find them on.
and the second is for Henry Stone b. 1849 weston on trent and his wife was elizabeth martin b 1851 married 1869 again any census's that you can find them on would be a great help and much appreciated.
Hope this isnt asking too much and thanks again.
regards Emily
