Hi Selena
Have you looked at the Gazette
http://www.londongazette.co.uk/
It has all sorts of documents (sadly lots of bankruptcy) but also deed of transfer and other interesting bits.
this could be William (1808):

LFW, thanks for that. James Spetch's grandson David Guest was a cloth merchant.
I have heard that Polly was a nick name for Mary Ann and I found this by googling.
"It was common in the Middle Ages to exchange Ps for Ms in nicknames. Thus Mary or "Molly" was transformed into "Polly." The same exchange can be seen with Peggy or Peg, a common nickname for Margaret (via "Meg.")
Polly" is a nickname, and often a name in its own right, for girls, which was derived from the name Molly. In 18th and 19th Century New England it was a common nickname for Mary.

Thanks again Lindsay, I've seen some other members on site with David Guest 1816 in their tree and I suppose they took his birth year from this census.
