I have tried to find them but no luck, sorry.
Just to add, looking at the image I think the father in law's surname should be Williams or Williamson.

Well I have to admit I am now well confused!! If the same family where is Emma?
Should I be looking for a death for Frances and a marriage to Caroline?
Grateful for any help to sort this mystery.

I think you may have to get the marriage cert. of Henry to Caroline Gadsby, or Emma's birth certificate to help you become unconfuddled!
There is Emma Fox, born June quarter 1846 in Clerkenwell ... and looking for a marriage of Henry Fox to Frances there is a possible one in Camberwell, -but that is March quarter 1847
not sure how James Williams(on), father-in-law on the 1861 fits in. If Caroline had been married before, I haven't yet found a Gadsby/Williams(on)marriage. Could it mean stepfather?

Hi Crystal Tips
Thanks.
Have just submitted the order for Emma's birth certificate. Will let you know what it says when it arrives.
Hopefully confusion will no longer reign when it arrives!!

Hi Nicki, It's possible that it's the wrong Emma - there is Emma Fox, b1846 in Clerkenwell, on the 1851 census the daughter of Charles and Agnes.
I've been trying to find a connection with Henry and Mary Fox the visitor along with Emma. (Enoch Bolland married Mary Ann Fox)

Emma Fox married William Tapping (on a later census it gives Emma's birth place as Clerkenwell).
Marriages Jun 1865
Tapping William Newington 1d 307 Fox Emma Newington 1d 307
Here they are on 1871 - (and there is another Emma Fox!! - What have I done!!) I have Robert William's birth cert which shows his mother as Emma formerly Fox.
TAPPING, William Head M 40 1831 Hertfordshire TAPPING, Emma Wife F 28 1843 Middlesex TAPPING, William Son M 3 1868 Middlesex TAPPING, Eliza Daughter F 0 1871 Middlesex FOX, Emma Servant F 15 1856 Middlesex

Well lost now........................!!! Have I got totally the wrong Tapping family?

Hi Nicki, so that marriage certificate is next! I've been looking for where the parish registers are held - it seems the libraries and staff at Woking and Guildford have been moving.
I'll copy and paste the a link which shows Newington in Southwark
http://www.southwark.anglican.org/parishes/abc_idx.htm#N
it may mean a telephone call, but you may be able to get a copy of the original at a fraction of the cost.
I quite often do lookups for people on local parish records (sorry I'm nowhere near London!) It's free to look and make a note of all the information on a certificate, and 30p-50p to get a printout. Sometimes they will provide a service to send it out to you and charge a small admin fee.
Let me know how you get on!

I now have the marriage certificate of William Tapping to Emma Fox - (St Mary, Newington, Surrey - Jun 1865)
Both residing at Cole St., Newington
William's father - Caleb Tapping (Wainwright) Emma's father - William Fox (House decorator)
Witnesses - Robert Fox & Mary Ann Fox (not yet sure where they fit into how they are related to Emma??)
Also - how does this marriage fit with what you previously found?
Marriages Dec 1840 BOLLAND Enoch St. Pancras 1 299 FOX Mary Ann St. Pancras 1 299
And to add to the confusion -
Marriage for Joseph Tapping and Mary Ann Fox on 19th Apr 1829 at St Saviour Southwark (IGI) which look likes it is the marriage of William's parents. So are the Fox families related?
Is it now possible to narrow down Emma on the relevant census returns? As it now looks highly likely that my original 1861 posting is completely wrong!!

It would be good if someone else could help Nicki out on this one. There may be a few red herrings, but now that she has the marriage certificate ...
I've got family in hospital, so won't be able to spend as much time as I would like looking at census records for Nicki, so by way of a 'nudge' is there any one else who can help out? Thanks

Thanks for the nudge Crystal.
Really need some help folks. I am trying to do a family tree portrait/presentation as a gift for my father-in-law for his 80th birthday on 22 November, so I have about 3 weeks or so to tie up the loose ends.
Really appreciate if someone can help.
Thanks Nicki
