You have to get this birth certificate before you can go on...this will then give you the actual maiden name of the mother - you can then go on knowing your are 100% definite on her maiden name as this will enable you to find the marriage, its your only hope really

Ada was born1873 Beckley, Oxon

Their first child Hammond G Pallett was born in 1894 in Essendon. I am presuming that the marriage was somewhere between 1878 - 1894 give or take a bit

I'm wondering if the marriage of Ada & Hammond is one of those that never got sent off to the RO ? I think its going to have to be a trip to Oxford Records office first - in the hope that they married where Ada's family lived - if no luck then its hertford RO ...... unless of course they never married !

That now gives us a fair idea of when the marriage between his parents took place as the eldest child stated in 1913.

All this can be verified by getting the Marriage Certificate of Robert & Audrey and the birth certificate of Robert Bentham. Once you have these then you can verify that the marriage above is the correct one (I am fairly sure it is as it ties in nicely)

If these are the parents you then have to get this marriage certificate in order to find them on the census records as it will give their fathers names & occupations and where they ived at the time.

I have just come across a interrnment card for a Charles George Sadler
Passed away 10th oct,1926
aged 45 years
He was interred in Abney Park Cemetery in a private grave
I have asked on here for anyone who was visiting the cemetery,,no reply
I believe Charles could be the brother of my grandfather

The only way you will know for sure is to get this guys death certificate

It states he was 45 when he died so this puts him born approx 1880/1.
The certificate could possibly tell you his parents names and his birth date. If you got Charles G Sadlers Birth certificate you could then compare the 2.
