Ok, for 1841 I've gone for the Mary Vaughans that are in Monmouth as she doesn't seem to have been anywhere else over the years (I think the birth in Gloucestershire was a hiccup). So, because of her varying ages, there are 3 possibles. What's the bet it's the one in the workhouse LOL |

I think she is the first one in the workhouse with Henry, not the daughter of Thomas and Ann |

These christenings are given in the same batch on the IGI as Edwins (previous page on thread). |

you may be interested to know that about three hundred years ago there was a famous Welsh poet, Henry Vaughan from Llansantffraed, Nr Brecon. An American friend of mine [sadly now deceased]Thomas O Calhoun, Professor of English from University of Delaware came to Cardiff on a sabbatical to write a book on Henry and I have a copy of that book "The Achievement of Silex Scintillans" - far too deep for me to understand I am afraid, but I have visited Henry's grave and seen where he lived |

wow that's amazing - although i have to be honest and say i have no idea who Henry is! whenever i've been passed any information on Mary, it's only been mentioned her having one child, Edwin! i'm finding all of this such a mystery and really have no idea where to go with this. Is it likely mary had more children? how can we find her parents details? |
