Yes, there was a June who wrote to my late Dad ... how do I access her Ancestry tree? I have no way of contacting her.

I wish I had known that Eva was alive into the 90's ... I would have written to her.

Use the Quick Search at the top for Rita Ives born 1933 and you will see she has her in her tree.

Hi Rose:

I have tried to contact June thru her GR site but have had no reply.

I explained the family relationship and let her access my tree showing Eva and her family, but nothing yet, so I decided to try this route.

I heard from a Michelle Ives in Australia but she was no relation.

I went to look at Ancestry and wonder if I joined would I be able to access June's tree easily?

I am grateful for your help Rose....just hope I am not taking up too much of your time.

Could not resist getting up to check my Genes mail.

My details are:

Margaret Rider, nee Widdowson, daughter of Douglas Widdowson of Hull, Yorkshire, England.

Douglas was the only son of Mary and Samuel Widdowson ...Samuel was Hannah's brother, so he would be Eva's uncle. Samuel drowned at sea.

Thanks for doing that .... June does seem to be elusive and I hope she is all right...I don't know if she is Eva's child, daughter-in-law or grandchild.

Anyway, I guess I will just have to be patient and wait to see if she responds to either you or me ... ;}

Hi Margaret,

June is Eva's child. I found a birth in 1928 for her. If it's the same one she will be 80! Michael H was born in 1939.

Thanks for finding out about June .... all the more reason to get in touch with her as soon as possible then.

Michael who wrote to my son would probably be her son then .... he would be in his late thirties. Wrote from Wollongong.

Is there a marriage record for June ~?

I keep getting so close to my family only to find brick walls.

No, Michael was Eva's son and he would be almost 70 now.

I looked at the Australian White Pages but there are no Ives in Wollongong.

Looking for a marriage for June would take a while. Anything past 1920 hasn't been transcribed yet so I would have to look at the scanned images. That's how I found births for June and Michael. I knew the years they were born from June's tree though.
I might not find a marriage if she moved to Australia.

Are you saying you could access June's tree and find some information? Is it possible for me to do that?

I think perhaps Michael must have been Eva's grandson ... he was definitely younger than our son who is now 40.

I thought of June because she used to write to my 90+ year old Dad about the family tree and he thought she was being nosey!!!!! I guess he destroyed all the letters. Frustrating.

I am hoping someone in Australia will know them and reply .... fingers and toes crossed.

I just used the Quick Search at the top to search for June Ives and Michael Ives and looked to see the name of the owner. As you can see, there's a June Ives with those names.

I checked out the marriage site .... a good find.

I wonder why they only go up to 1957 - over fifty years ago.

I have some new names to add to my tree, but I wish June would reply.
