Margaret, you are a star !!!!
I now have a marriage for Amelia in London and Jane is a witness so that's another confirmed sister. After the 4 children you have found, they had another 6 in Hammersmith before the last child Mary who was born in Witney about 1831. Thomas is indeed a baker on some of the children's marriage records on Ancestry.
Elizabeth remarried in London in 1833 so Thomas must have died about 1831/32 but it is unclear where. Elizabeth seems to have been born between 1793 and 1797 - probably closer to the earlier date given Amelia's baptism in 1813. I notice that is before the marriage you found of Thomas Harris to Elizabeth Nickols - i wonder if that means that isn't the right one? I don't suppose it said his profession on the marriage ?
I can't thank you enough for all of your help. You've demolished a massive brick wall for me :-)
RIck.

Hello, I wonder, when you have a minute may be able help look for something for me?
Birth: Henry Baker born 1780 (based on 1851 census - he was 71years old). Died 1855 at Kirtlington, Oxfordshire (Parish Register). The census says place of birth Oxon, Bletchington - although I can't find him in their parish registers. Would really like to know his parents names.
Also Marriage: Henry Baker (above) to Elizabeth surname unknown. She was born c1780 (based on 1841 census - says she was 60), they had children in Kirtlington, Oxfordshire and she was buried there in 1845. The first child baptised at Kirtlington was in 1808. As she died before the 1851 census, I don't know where she was from. Would really like to know her surname so that I can develop this branch further.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, in advance, for your help.
Kindest Regards Laura

hi Margaret, you have looked for me before on this person but I have now found her burial record and it states she is 61yrs when she is buried in 1827 as Sarah Barnes at Standlake.....so,.I am looking for Sarah Welch (her maiden name)born 1766 in that area.......we did have her as being baptised 1762 Culham but going by her burial this may not be the right one.........can you help? think it should be a little later - after 1766.......thank you Stephen

Hi Margaret,
I wonder if you could do a look up for me, I'm very interested to know if a father is listed for this birth;
Surname First name(s) District Vol Page ----------------------------------------------------- Births Dec 1865 -------------------------------- Field Thomas William Luckett Chipping N. 3a 626
I know his mother is Sarah Jane Field, I just wondered if there could be a link to a Mr Luckett as Thomas was born out of wedlock........... I beleive that the Luckett family are also in Swerford....... this is where Thomas was born.
Many thanks for your kind offer and your time is very much appreciated,
Dee x

STEPHEN I looked at the burial in Standlake it gives Sarah as 61 yrs as you said, buried on 4/11/1827 a widow. I looked at her marriage John Barnes junior Sarah Welch in Standlade 30/10/1784 both of this parish witnesses Mary Barnes and Thomas Stone. It does not say that she was under age,. There are no Welch baptisms in Standlake at the relevant time. Sorry no better information. New information

STEPHEN There is a Sarah Welsh baptised 14/11/1762 in Culham daughter of William Welsh and Susannah Perry who had married by License in Culham 26/5/1758 witnesses John Cornish and William Pead. I think this is your missing Sarah Barnes as I said previously she needed to be 21 yrs at her marriage in 1784 so birth date circa 1763 As she was not baptised in the parish where she was buried, they would not have a true idea of her age from parish records, especially as she was a widow. Hope this is better news. Margaret

Margaret I am looking for Ann Gilkes born in Neithrop in 1851 or 1852. I have found 2 possibles under the Banbury Volume XV1 in the birth records. One is on Page 27 in the Oct-Dec 1851 list. The other is on Page 203 in the Jul-Sept 1851 list. Can you help me identify if one of these is linked to Neithrop. Many Thanks Tony

HELMSMAN I cannot find a baptism for Ann Gilkes in Banbury St Mary, where the regs for Neithrop are to be found until 1853. Nor is she recorded in Neithrop after 1853. There are many Gilkes Presbyterians, Baptists, Methodists etc, I have looked for her in their relevant records, but she is still not to be found. If you could give information about her in her future, ie marriage etc, perhaps this could shine a light on her beginnings. Margaret Rose

Hi Margaret
A challenge for you.
I am for the marriage of Francis Hoare. Although he was from Streatley in Berkshire, his wife Ann, or Anne, is recorded as being from Berwick Oxon, this may be Berrick Salome Oxon, which I believe comes under Chalgrove.
As to when, well their eldest son John was born in or about 1834.
Hope you can help.
