I think that I'm on the right track but before I head off down it, I was wondering if there is an experienced kind soul out there who would double check! |

Firstly - please give us ALL the information on the wedding cert - names, ages, occupations, addresses - witnesses etc. |

Going back to Caroline's birth in 1904 I see she is registered WORRALL, ...perhaps the G is GEE. |

At that time, a child's surname was inferred not stated. ie. there was no actual box to fill in the surname as there is now. |

That's good point Gwyn. I'll have a trawl through the death records. I hope he wasn't a bigamist! |

Hi K, that's what I thought. The occupation looked right. |

Thanks K, looks as though I might have got the right family. I've got them on the 1891 census as well. |

Robert Gee was a framework knitter in 1901 and William had become a labourer in an Iron Foundary which would match the marriage cert. |

Hi K, they both match the marriage certificate of 1906 although William's occupation is just general labourer. |

Hi Dea, it's great to have so many wonderful people to steer me in the right direction. I am really so grateful to them all. Now I just need to find out who the Caroline Worrall was who was present at the birth and registered it. I thought it was Mary's mother but according to the census her name was Sarah. |
