I checked FreeBMD for the June quater of 1840 when Rimmington is listed and there where no other Atkin's christened in that quarter in Boston |

I don't think there was a twin brother. There's no brother listed on the censuses and no other Atkin birth for Jun 1840. |

I suppose this could be right, I was looking through my family tree things and I have found the copy of 1891 census, they are in 1 Annes Court Sutton with Stoneferry George Atkin is the head and he is a widow aged 46, he has Herbert his son age 13, and there is an Eliza Smithson 33 servent who is a widow. |
