MARIA GANT born 1806, 1841 census states she was born in South America but a British Subject. Was this because she married ISAAC BURRELL born c1786 - a soldier, around 1828 when their first child was born. I can find no trace of her birth or their marriage. I need some help with tracing Maria in South America (which country?). Were they married perhaps in that country? They eventually settled in Lewes, Sussex, where all their children were born. There is no trace of Maria after the centus of 1851. Did she return to her birth country? |
