can any one help on the above info please x

hi im just trying to find the marriage cert of my late grandfather and still living grandmother, the mystery lies that we are not 100% sure if they ever did marry even though we celebrated there anniversary every year.

Im looking for harold kenneth gibson and lilian waters marriage. even though my nan used gibson as her surname, i just cant find anything, i wondered if any one could help solve the mystery. many thanks x

This is betty's birth reg details , she will not show on any census as you can only see them upto 1901. if you want to know if she married you woul have to go through the whole of the bmd page by page.

betty gibson born 1918 i cnat find nothing on her, she seems to be the only one in my tree that does not show up in any census, or other info out there, was just wondering what happened to her

The last census is 1901 the next one wont be ready for a few years.

The best thing to do is but the marriage cert that will give both great grand fathers and hopefull get you back into the range of the censuses

can any one find the full census of my grandfather Harold Gibson. looking for his fathers details, and possible parents of his mother~?

You cant see any certs, you have to buy each one
You have to pay by credit card on line. Go to GRO.gov.uk and follow the instruction to Order on line, write down the information from here and fill in the application form, This always seems to take several tries, so dont give up .
I think you have to register first. Write down the numbers and letters exactly
if its a little "a "dont put a capital "A "

Each certificate costs £7 and takes 1 to 2 weeks to come by post.

Dont go mad ordering everything , a marriage cert will give you their fathers names and jobs, where they live and witnesses.

A birth cert with name both parents and mothers maiden name, and a death cert will give the cause of death and the informant, not always a relative.

You can order the cert online...just follow the instructions... each cert will cost £7.

Well a lot of it is on ancestry which costs a lot, so while you are getting started just stick with us and we'll try to guide you through it. Dont buy any credits on here.waste of money !
Just do one relative at a time slowly.

Doing your family history takes time and patience Tracey....believe me.

So long as you take it one step at a time...the most important thing at the moment is to find your grandfather's birth and to order the cert. This will tell you his parents names and then you go on from there.
