There is a death registered Q1 1962 in Poole, Dorset 7c 966

John G Thorpe age 45 which maybe him.

How did you know his age because he would have been a few years younger than his wife.

Hi Elaine,

You said he was her 2nd husband, do you know if all the children were his or were some from the 1st marriage.?

Am going to bed shortly but will look tomorrow for Patricia to see if she was Thorpe.

Had a quick look, there is no Patricia Thorpe in 1939 with MMN Church so maybe she was from 1st marriage.

Hi Christine im lead to believe that two possibly three of the girls was from the 1st marriage and we think the correct spelling of the 1st husbands name is moesby this is about all i have managed to find out im still trying to seek information on edna and lilian, i know rosemary was definatley a thorpe as was my mother so the chances are that patricia would of been moesby, thanks for your help

Ancestry is playing up but found her

Q3 1939 Nottingham 7b 416

Patricia A Moesby mmn Church

We now need to find the other childrens birth registrations to try and determine when she married John Thorpe.

At least it's narrowed down a bit, checked and Susan was registered as Thorpe so marriage is between 1839 and 1848

Hi Christine your an angel thankyou so much for this information you really dont know how much all this means to me and its going to mean even more to my mum as she is one of the main reasons for me doing this as she really remembers very little about her family as she was so young when both her parents died.

Kind regards Elaine

I checked marriages in 1945 and 46 and not there, had to give up because Ancestry has gone daft and isn't displaying the images but will try again later this evening.

Hi Elaine,

Found the marriage

Q1 1941 Nottingham 7b 785

John G Thorpe to Moesby

Wish I'd started in 1940 and gone forwards rather than going back from 1948 lol, but got there in the end.

If you get that cert it will give both their father's names and ages then hopefully we will be able to find out more for you.
