Hi Paula, I wish to find either William Sparks or William J Spark on the 1851 census. His death information says he was born circa 1829 in London UK. Can you help please? |

He was a John Brownlee, also born Ireland c 1863. His parents were Margaret (born c 1839) and William Brownlee. Margaret died a widow at her sister Sarah's house in 1903, albeit was not there in 1901 census. |

Yes thanks, have most of the Irish stuff - it is Sarah's family, the Lilleys, where my main interest lies. Rosetta's mum was a Lilley and her mum's sister, Sarah's aunt, also married a Brownlee! They confused us at every turn. |

Thanks, Paula, I've been at this hobby for a good few years now and I know all about ancestors turning up in strange places and with strange name spellings - they certainly like to keep us guessing. |

Mmm, certainly the occupation fits as she is noted as a tailoress at 1901. It is possible her family were still in Ireland at 1891. Don't recall her having a sister Annie, but then again I may not have tracked down all the children in Ireland. |
