Hi Lesley,
I have been trying to find my g grandad Charles Edward Scott in the 1871 census without success. He was born in Alverthorpe with Thornes near Wakefield West Yorkshire on Nov 11th 1850. In the 1881 census he was living in Huddersfield W Yorks with his aunt Ann Sizer. His parents were Joseph Scott & Frances Ashton.

Possibly born in 1892. (please could you also look for her birth?).

Her parents names are William and Lydia...residing at Cadbury Heath,Oldland,Thornbury,Bristol.

Hello Lesley
I`m stuck! Joseph Carter was living in Meridon, county of Warwick, in the 1901 census with Charles and Clara Keatley, as a foster child. It says he was 9 years old [ we are pretty certain he was born on 19/09/1890- i have death cert] however how can we tell what area he was born in as i want to obtain his actual birth certificate? On his death cert it says he was born in Warwicks, but i do not think that is so reliable. London has been mentioned but i don`t know anything about his mothers name. Can you help?

The only Lydia stone with a mother called Lydia is this one, and the same for the 1891 census.

It states on the 1901 census that he was born in London.

If as you state his birthday was Sep 1990 then the birth would have been registered between Sept Quarter 1890 to Dec Quarter 1890.

There are no births registered in London between those months and the same can be said for Warwickshire.

Do you have his marriage certificate, does it give his fathers name?

There are six children from the marriages, me and my sister from the first and another four from the second. We are all alive so we had better leave the matter there,

Any idea when the first child was born - I am looking for this marriage now, but it will be a long process so give me about an hour. I will do this in between searching for other people also.
