Please can anyone lookup George Herbert Hirst born 1874 in Kirkheaton, Yorkshire, in the 1881 and 1891 census please. I believe his grandparents were called James and Sarah Maria Hirst. They lived Brown Cow Public House, St Mary's Lane near Kirkheaton, Yorkshire. Many thanks. Fern -x-. |

If he was born in 1874, he cannot be on 1871 census............ |

Logically, a ten-year old boy would be with his parents..........unless he was illegitimate, or one (or both) of the parents had died. |

In that case, you can learn who his parents were by buying the birth cert. |

I believe he was illegitimate. As the book co written by his granddaughter said he was born at his mother's parent pub the Brown Cow pub James Hirst and Sarah Maria Hirst. All I need to find out now is about James Hirst were he came from because I think he is the link to my family. Fern -x-. |
