Makes sense Jonesey...The first record of them was Elect Rolls of 1925..23 and 20....They would be old enough to live on there own at that time.

Thank you for the help.x

Possible scenario:

Michael visits brother and doesn't make it home. Mary Ann dies in 1907, kids end up in workhouse and then move to Birmingham possibly to some relations of their mothers.

That's my theory up the shute!!

I found my father living in Bham with his sister Elizabeth, He then married Lola, and Liz moved to Bromsgrove and dissapeared.

Perhaps I should wait untill my fathers Birth Cert: arrives...I ordered it a week ago.

Sounds promising Jonesey, Leaving from Liverpool would make him a Northerner, as opposed to a Southerner, who would sail from Southampton...Perhaps he was living "over the brush' with Mary ann Heeley, and they never got round to marriage!.

There wasn't a Mary Heeley in that 1911 Workhouse list was there?
My thinking!...Michael goes to visit his brother John in the States..likes it better there,so stays on,and Mary Heeley ends up in workhouse with John and Elizabeth, and the other daghter who is 15 goes into a Nunnery!

What a sad story.

No obvious joy on the 1911 Canadian census or the 1910 US census but this might prove interesting:

We also have the "Baggies"...West Bromwich.!...A Premier team next season!

Mary Jordan of Greater Manchester sounds promising Dea!.But it says she was 11 years old!.....Can't understand where they went all of a sudden after 1901!.

Thanks again Teacher.x

Sorry Dea,

I'm sure that John William who was born in Birmingham won't need a translator for that one. (lol)

P.S. Not having much luck with his grandad Michael Jordan. Like yourself I cannot spot a death. I have checked the Irish 1911 census in case he might have gone back home but I can't spot him on that so I'm off to check the the Canadian 1911 in case he went there.

Dea Report 25 Apr 2010 14:28

Jonesey,

I wish you would stick to the Mandarin script - I can translate that much easier.

I had to ask my husband on this one and now know 'blues' is Birmingham!

OOOh - you learn something more every day don't you ?

Hey Jonesey..Nice to get your imput again.

I remember it well!...We had to go to the British Embassy in London to get a Visa stamp on our passports to attend the Villa away games to West Brom.!!!!!!...I understand that local farmers are allowed to graze their cattle on the pitch during the week, to keep the grass short!...lol!

West Brom the most promoted team in English Football...Can't dissagree with the facts!

Up and down ,just like the proverbial YOYO!....and relegated faster than a FIDDLERS ELBOW..!!!.........As the old CB Radio enthusiasts used to say Jonesey "Come back!!"

Dea

Dea Report 24 Apr 2010 17:11

Sorry Jonesey - I am not 'into' football.

The closest I can get is when my litte 18 month old grandson asks for his Futbowl!!, kicks it and then shouts Gowl !!!

That does it for me!!

Dea x

Jonesey Report 24 Apr 2010 16:57

"West Brom is North B'ham, and that this is whom I'm looking for.!!!!!...Their football team is not much to shout about!!!"

The cheek of it. (lol)

West Bromwich is north of Birmingham but not North Birmingham. Up until a few years ago buses travelling between West Bromwich and Birmingham, or visa versa, had to stop at the boundary (Outside the Hawthorns, West Bromwich Albion's ground). Passengers could only pay the fare to the boundary and if they wished to continue their journey they then had to pay again to do so.

West Bromwich Albion are the most promoted team in the English football league. They have been promoted 4 times in the past 8 years. (We try not to mention the fact that they have been relegated 3 times in the same period (lol).)

The light bulbs are all energy savers, and as such, when the supply is busy, the lights dim!!...Candlelight!!!
