could somebody kindly look up a marriage please. dec 1892 looking for the wife of herbert johnson crosthwaite.
have looked on f/bmd but without success. he was born mar 1863.
i was led to believe her name was lily? but cannot find this.
my overall aim is to locate them on 1901 census and see what fam they had.

andy thankyou very much for that. the names of the children though are not what i was expecting as i have george, gertrude and annie. annie wasnt born though until 1908.
do you have access to 1911 to see if these children were born after 1901? not sure when the other 2 were born though. if they dont appear with this fam then there must be another herbert crosthwaite?
if you dont have access then could somebody else do a look up please

hi andy and ann, many thanks for all that info. part of it makes senses as the lily part is poss eliza. didnt know there were 2 marriages but no matter.
but my great aunt was annie crosthwaite born 1908 jfm stockport,cheshire and she is not there so wondering who her parents were. but i was given herbert and lily by a cousin so info im pretty sure is correct, but now iam confused. she married in 1934 so know she didnt die young.
any suggestions where i can find her?

lancashire ann, yes thats them. thankyou very much. but i am confused as the name herbert johnson crosthwaite was told to me and is quite an unusual name so i had no reason to doubt. maybe somewhere there is a connection.
but so sorry to those that searched for me for wasting your time. i feel quite cross at being given the wrong info, yet the cousin was so sure they were right. wait til i get in touch with them!

Just to note that Hunslet is in Yorkshire, not Lancs. This is the only entry of Freebmd for 1880-1890 so very likely the one married to Lily.
The marriage cert of Lily & Herbert would help establish parentage.
