I'm trying to trace James and Patrick Bowling (father and son) who were in the Fulham area around 1868. Patrick was born around this time, but BMD only has records for Fulham from 1875 onwards. Any help appreciated. |

Thanks. I have Fulham middx noted as his birth place in the 1911 census. I have entries for him with Ann - yes that is their marriage - in 1891 and 1901 census, which both state he was born in Middx, but not where. From the census and his marriage certificate I reckon he was born in 1868 and yes there is only one Patrick in the Free BMD records for 1868 and that isn't him as far as I can work out, plus their Fulham records only start from 1875. The marriage certificate shows my Patrick's father as James. The census for 1871 shows that Patrick as the son of someone called Luke and lists the birth place as somewhere in Lancs (Preston?) from memory. I have no idea about James at all as regards occupation. There is a family story of Irish roots, but so far that has proved groundless. |

Yes that is Patrick's marriage. What I need is the birth and can't find anywhere. Does anyone have any idea where to try? |

Thanks, this is possible, but I still need to find the birth to prove anything. I'v just looked for Kensington and found nothing - that said, I have found a John Boling in1868, so might investigate that. |

Strange as this 1891 does state where he was born & there is only 2 Patricks that come up |

How do you know they were in Fulham around 1868 |

The only thing I have is the 1911 census, which lists his birth place as Fulham the 1901 and 1891 both list it as middlesex, when he was married. I cannot find him on previous censuses. |
