Thomas Birch was born c1860- the 1901 census he states that he does not know where he was born but that he was baptized in Stourbridge. Any help in finding his baptism & parents names would be greatly appreciated. |

Seems possible that the three older children could be Emily's from a previous marriage. Not locating a Birch/Baldwin marriage though. |

Thank-you all, I do have the details of the census's. Yes, Emily did marry twice-Thomas was her 2nd husband, Amy, Rebecca & Ada were by her 1st husband (Amy is my grandmother). I am trying to find the baptism & parents of Thomas as I am in contact with his grandson in Australia-thanks to the kind people who helped me find him. |

Thanks Alviegal-they are the correct children-their mother's maiden name was Howes I guess this is her brother with the 2 boys-presumably Thomas & Emily had both died before 1911. |

Maureen - I've been searching for a record of the marriage between Thomas and Emily as there could be a chance that the certificate would give Thomas' father's name. |

Maureen, I've tried the searches with and without forenames, and I've also tried just listing marriages for Thomas just to see what I might find - nothing! |

Thanks Anne-Marie-it's a possibility I suppose that they didn't marry-I haven't heard any 'rumours' in the family that they didn't! It's odd though that there is no trace of any marriage-so I guess I must assume that they didn't. Which doesn't help much in finding Thomas's parnets! |

Well done Tempest! I've searched FreeBMD and Ancestry but didn't find that! The date fits in well with the children's ages on the census. |
