Angus Grant c1800 had a son John 1831 in Ardachy Bolskine Scotand with Margaret Macdonald they were not married. Can anyone help with info on him Angus or his parents please |

It would not be a birth certificate that you bought but a copy of the entry in the OPR as Statutory registration didn't begin in Scotland until 1855. |

The cert or entry that I bought said John was illigitimate or begotton in fornication........Ann didnt show on the 1841 census with her mother she would of been 11 Angus was not mentioned on the census either.The cert said sheperd in ardachy Thanks |

There are a few reasons that Ann may not have been with her mother and brother in 1841. She could have been brought up by Angus's family, she may have been in service or she may have died. |
