can't share a correction with an old contact

A contact who you still have mutually shared trees with, how is it possible to be unable to message her? If this is a privacy setting, it's a dumb one thwarting tree accuracy and needs abolishing.
We need to be able to pass on the news of a tree correction, to anyone who is a past contact concerning that bit of tree. That's goodwill common sense. There is a contact who still has mutually shared trees with me but it's 11 years since our messages. I
The bit of tree interesting us, I have discovered that other sources have corrected who someone's parents were. My contact needs to know that. She does not appear as an existing contact in the messaging system, so it won't set for me to message her. If I search member trees on the names I want to tell her about, names that I can see are still in her tree, in order to find her and message her like a new contact, she does not appear in the results under the searched name.
So, someone whose tree is still open to me, and who I now know has an error in her tree that I have just corrected in mine, I can't contact.

Maurice .........

no point in posting ANYTHING on here addressed to GR. They do not check or reply.

In fact this Suggestions Board should be closed.

The only people who look on here are people lik myself ...... member helpers, who I am sure you know about.

I suggest that you send an email; to GR at the address below .........

[email protected]

They say they will reply in 3-5 business days (ie Monday to Friday).

You could also try posting this same question on the Genealogy Chat Board ......... one or more of the member helpers may have some suggestions for you.

My only suggestion is ..................

a) has the contact opened the envelope?

b) If not, do you know that she is still active? She might have died, be incapacitated by sickness, or just given up.

It might very simply be due to the fact that she has changed her email address without notifying GR.so that any email sent by GR to the address they have on file will just go floating in the atmosphere.

Remember ............. only the MEMBER can delete their tree, or someone who has been given the password and information and asked to do so in the event of b) being the case. GR NEVER deletes the tree of a member, except in the very rare case of a member banned from the site for unsuitable behaviour.
