As we know from experience, OP just lights the blue fuse and walks away on a regular basis.

Surely not DC (neePP)

May be then as the OP is Researching, The gentle approach - A lady with a heart of gold willing to help anybody,

I would be more than willing to help with that research in order to find such a person

I really do not understand this thread .........

....... and I'm sure this has mentioend earlier in the thread, but I have not read back.

The OP states .............

---------------
I would suggest the OP's are locked so they can only be edited by the author or by GR.

We have lost some very useful and interesting threads of late because people don't like what is written or later down the line when they are annoyed at what somebody trying to say they report/rr the OP. When others are not able to read the OP, they don't understand what is going on and they start to generalise. In some cases the flow has gone completely off topic and a bit nasty......................less said the better.

I concede that an OP can be reported for a decision to be made later but not rr'd so that it suddenly disappears from the boards leaving a hole in the flow of the following messages.

-----------------

Only the poster or GR can edit any post, whether it be the opening post or number 500

No-one else can edit ANY post on this site. Nor should they be able to

ANY member, including free members, can report any post that they find offensive, objectionable, or for any other reason.

Posts used to be left in place .................. and that caused a lot of trouble because many posts are reported "for cause".

The response to an RR of a post is automatic, and computer-generated ............. there is not a monitor there just waiting to push the button.

so, we are left with having RR'd posts left or removed.

I much prefer seeing them removed.

The problem, of course, is the malicious reporting of posts, either because the RR'er has a dislike of the poster OR of the topic .....

................ remember all the posts that were needlessly RR'd because the poster dared to mention the word "ancestry"??

But the idea that anyone else can edit a post is completely wrong.

I am wondering why this needs urgent attention....is this poster special or something?

Edit - So if you do not like a particular thread, you have to contact GR by email to complain, then if they agree they will remove it?? This could also take 3 or 4 days if it falls at the weekend or bank holiday....you obviously did not use the boards before 2011 then

NS

As your query has been answered by GR members, I'm not sure why you have nudged this back up the boards?

If you 'doubt' the information that has been supplied, the best way to verify, is to contact GR directly as they appear to show no interest in respect of your thread as no GR staff have responded

Dare I say this ....but this thread had a lot of reported people on it myself included.

My posts were not put back (inappropriate content ) and I was contacted by Genes and told to ignore people that I do not see eye to eye with.

I have done that but as far as I can see it has been Nudged up for more reactions again by the original poster after we all left this thread alone for 8 days

I suppose some have to sit on there hands and some don't or won't :-|

Sue ;-)

Edit.

I am sitting on my hands again with this one ;-)

I would also have thought that as Nana Sue is a regular visiter to the GR offices that she could have taken this up with them during one of her visits!!!!
