One possible reason for the function not being "fixed" is that many members do NOT want others to be able to just copy Hot Matches willy nilly
I will not open my tree to anyone ................
If someone explains to my satisfaction why they could be connected, I MIGHT send them the information relating to their relative.
How do you know that Hot Match is really "yours"?
Far far better to make a note of the name, research it yourself and then enter it in your tree.

Fix the broken "Copy/Paste" function - surely this must be a priority!
What is the point of being able to view your "Hot Matches" if you can't easily transfer any of that information into your own tree? Even worse that you leave the "Copy" function active without any mention of the fact that there is no working "Paste" function so whatever you copy is just a complete waste of time anyway!
That such a basic and necessary function can just be left broken for what appears to be years from what I've read on the message boards says very little for the professionalism or care of your company and seriously questions the wisdom of having just paid you a subscription. I'm inclined to ask for a refund and use a different service instead!

I'm afraid you're banging your head against a brick wall hoping for the reinstatement of the old tree GR have decided what they think we need, not what their subscription paying members want I think that a good majority of members would like the return of the of the old tree instead of the latest effort with it's gimmicky "enhancements" which often don't function properly There was also a decent tree printing facility with the old tree but that is now non-existent GR were working on another new tree a while back, but that seems to have died a death

Back to the old tree - PLEASE!!! CAN NOT FIND ANYTHING, USE MY TREE ETC. THE OLD TREE WORKED AND WAS EASY TO USE. :-|

you have to go to Company Information ...... at the bottom left hand side of the screen
Click on that
scroll down below the map, and then you get that support@ email address

i believe you have to scroll down to the bottom of the page
Click on Contact us, then you'll get the email address
You can find a way to get to an internal (site) contact by going to Help, right at the very top, between Account and your name
and then following your nose ....................
but it's tedious
Keeping that email address handy is much easier, and faster :-)

What the heck has happened to my tree on GR?
I open my Full tree. I locate a person. I add a Father & Save. My screen shows the person I added and a few immediately adjacent relatives. But instead of the person I added appearing as a parent, he appears as a spouse!!!. Refreshing the page simply shows the foot of the tree so I have to go to Full Tree again. Now the person I added appears in the intended relationship.
I added a number of people yesterday and had to through this nonsense every time.
This is driving me up the wall. Quite frankly, I have deleted auto-renew for this site and will be looking for an alternative.

You are not going to be able to track down people who have moved to Spain in recent years, as they probably flew there.... Unless you want to see the flight records for every one going on their holidays?
Again the divorce records you are after are much too recent, I certainly would not want mine available to all, should I be divorced
You are not going to get more tree matches if no one else is researching them

I can answer 2 of your questions ...............
the most ecent England and Wales and Scotland censuses are 1911
The next one to be released will be the 1921 Census .................... in 2021
There is a 100 year restriction on the release of census information ............ so you will never see a more recent one than 1931 in your lifetime ................ there was no 1941 census because of WW2.
Death records ................... you can find death records upto 1006 online on ancestry, if GR does not have .................... but again you will not find any after that as none have been put online by GRO.
You have to look for obituaries in papers, etc
Divroce records ........................ probably not, depending on the years for which you are looking

help and advice is usually given by other members ............. try posting on Genealogy Chat
immigration information .............. records are not, and have not been kept for movement to and from Ireland, and not from Europe in earlier centuries.
You have to google for information in many cases ..................... or the information can sometimes be found on another site.

More hot matches. Lists of surnames how many from each region of UK. Divorce records. More tree matches. Election records from 1960 to present date. More death records. More experiment advice for beginners. More immigration information dates people became in the UK from 1900 to 1990. More data from European countries to help with family search.

there was a notice posted somewhere about 4 or 5 weeks ago from Alex to say that there would be no more Suggestions Board Roundups ...................
the last one was done in May
I do not know if Shelley has left or not ....... she was the 3rd staff member in 3 years to be given responsibility for the Round-ups.
I wish I could remember where I saw that notice, but the old memory is failing me on that!
It seems to me that the staff at GR is either extremely busy on various projects .................. or they have lost staff. They never have had a very big staff, at least not for the last 5 or 6 years.
Even members seem to have lost interest in keeping on eye on the Suggestions Board.
The best way to get any response for the last year has been to use that email address.
If it is a tree problem or a technical type question, always ask on Genealogy Chat board ......... there are several members who are pretty expert at answering those.

Sylvia, what ever happened to 'Shelley' the 'Community Manager' who assured us she was going to read and respond to all the suggestions on these threads????!!!!
It seems she didn't last long - nothing posted since May 2014 - and it begs the question, is there actually anybody at GR who cares about us members who are paying their salaries?
And, yes, I too have reported the Keepsafe issue to 'Support'. :-|

I have now raised the problem with Genes as suggested (twice) - no solution yet. I've been told it's been passed to their technical team for investigation. Hope its fixed soon.
