It must be very upsetting that so many have rejected this new layout. If I was a member of this Genes team and my programmer had said he was getting good feedback and it had been tested and it all worked, I would be very upset and angry by what has subsequently occurred..

They are young people who gave the programmer far too much license, and have been bombarded with abuse for a month now. Poor Estelle is doing her best, but we see nothing of the others.

I would have more sympathy if they told us they knew we were very unhappy and that they had a plan to dig themselves out of this mess.

But absolutely nothing since 2nd Aug. The feedback is still officially "good". What on earth would they call "bad feedback".

Now over 4 weeks of people not using the site for listing relatives and checking for matches. Site becoming a pale shadow of Facebook.

Well, Estelle is 'out of the office until Thursday 6 September', so maybe - hopefully - we'll get some kind of response to all the suggestions when she gets back. I'm surprised though that, having set up the Suggestion boards she went off on holiday seemingly without arranging for a colleague to respond to them.

Simon Estelle was certainly reading the threads and making a comment or two in first week. I would not begrudge her a week's holiday.

I have been told that she and the team are in Newcastle this Saturday and a genealogical fair, so hopefully a couple of us will be able to get there and find out a little more what they are thinking.

I am in Wales and have no passport currently to enter England :-D ;-)

There is no set time in which Genes have to read or respond to suggestions on this board, unlike messages to support where they do have to respond quickly.

Since this board is for suggested improvements rather than fixing faults I would hope they give priority to fault fixing before suggestions.

If Estelle is the only member of the GR Team that comments on the board then this site is going downhill quicker than I thought.

Any response from the Tream would be welcome. The silence is getting deafening.

Waste of time any one posting suggestions that at the moment are just getting ignored.
