I am another who stays on this site purely and simply because I love helping others


I use my subscriptions in other sites, AND my knowledge of places to look for information, to help other members



I have been a member since April 2004, and have been active on these Community Boards, helping other members, since that time.



As you say, loyalty is a two way street ................ and many of us have proved our loyalty to GR.

Unfortunately all these points have been made before and GR still do nothing about it.

They simply do not care about their members or apparently their own reputation.

No idea what the members can actually do about it

To GR I think you need to take a long look at what is happening on this site,

We the long serving and some of the newer members have since joining this site contributed to the growth and success of GR by way of the help provided to others who join we have over the years used our own subscriptions to various sites to do look up and give guidance and other help where required,

With out such participation from us the members you GR would not have had a successful genealogy web site from which to develop other parts of the business

I myself have been a member since 2004 and have been a paying member of Ancestry world wide and a couple of other pay sites, I achieved my goal as far as my family tree is concerned in 2007 but have continued to keep my membership to these other pay sites because I have found that although I don’t need them any more there are members on GR who are less fortunate than me and cannot afford to subscribe so continued with the subscribe in order to help others,

Now I no that was up to me but I feel I am not alone in choosing to do this and this is just the sort of thing that GR was built on (The good will of it’s members)

I feel at the very least GR should start to listen and be more active (your selves) on these boards

Then you may be able to sort out all or some of the problems with errors and also the repeated threads that are being RR’d for no apparent reason ? Only to receive email with threats of banning members instead of saying what T&C they are in breach of if any? You seem to use this as a cop out and that does not help any one

We the majority have been loyal members and in my book loyalty is a two way street and should not be ignored as you appear to be doing
