I am sure there has been a thread posted re this, in the early days when this board was first set up.

But I can't find it, and advanced search does sweet fanny adams.



PLEASE

can GR sort out this glitch that menas a new member who does not pick a board name is given the name "Unknown"

There must be hundreds of unknowns now on the site :-|



and it is most annoying!


even more annoying, I think, than having multiple Anns, Davids, or Allans, which used to be the bane of our lives.

There have been quite a few msitaken identity problems.



"Unknown" as the board name is a glitch resulting from the big changes.


It MUST be easy to fix!

I remember the thread you are talking about Sylvia and I thought GR had responded on it and explained why it happens.

I can't seem to find it now so I wonder if GR deleted it.

Fairly easy to implement , when filling in the My account page as with other sites
A red star beside the board name with a line that says " this field must be completed "
