Phil has replied on a thread dated 18th July 2011

"I have found the bug, and it will be fixed in the next release. This is due out on Wednesday 20th July."

If this is the case does this mean that site maintenance is planned but no announcement has been made yet

Most releases do not require us to bring the site down for maintenance. Because we have multiple servers we can deploy to servers in sequence, keeping the website up and running throughout. Thus normally we don't need to pre announce it.

I am the former lead developer for the Genes Reunited website team and the former lead developer of the Findmypast Tree team. I do not work for this company anymore.
