Comic sans MS I want to be able to select that as my chosen form of font on here since this is the only site I struggle to read.

I'm rather disappointed that GR haven't replied to the question in the 3 days it has been running. Surely they could have said either that they would look into it, or that it was impossible and why. Perhaps I should have addressed it to GR as it was a site technical query.

Thank you to all those people who have also said they have difficulties. I was beginning to think I was the only one in error. By the way, my usage problems are not just hand and eye. I also have to contend with epilepsy and I find larger text of any sort is a help during my 2 hour ration on site, even if I do have to fiddle around with text size. But why should have to declare my problems.

I'm closing now before I fall off my seat.

Well, put it this way Joy, people use it and we respond. I find it difficult but I wouldn't think of correcting somebody for using it. If GR decided to that is fine but it is not my place to criticise, better that not to post at all.

I am trustee for Gloucestershire Lifestyles our members are disabled people and their carers. Those who are visually impaired find the font Comic sans MS the easiest to read for the newsletter.

Very well said, AnninGlos! I am often so tempted to correct people's grammar or spelling but I wouldn't dream of doing so. Tolerance is the key word.
Further to Chrissie's post. Those are the 2 letters that I have the most problem with. I can't differentiate between burn and bum but in capitals no problem. BURN and BUM.
And a little argument to InspectorGreenPen. All road signs in mixed text? Certainly not in Canada, In 2 official languages, yes, but always in capitals.

I agree for those who are visually impaired an enlargement of the page numbers or a 'next/previous page' button would be a good idea.

I think it behoves all of us to be tolerant of the way other people post and read the boards. We never know when we might be in their shoes. We already accept text speak, people who have trouble with words (maybe dyslexic etc), people who have trouble with grammar, we even used to have somebody who was unable to read very well, so maybe it is not too much trouble to not complain about people who need, or feel the need, to write in capital letters. Let us live and let live. Life is short. :-)

the typeface is too narrow, it should be wider _or_ serif one or the other

Am I the only oldie to to suffer with the font used here., to me its grey on grey
I call it squinty-spider font ? After a while it can be a real headache .

I don't mind the size but would like a broader font similar to that used on "Member Since " on the left. ?

I've noticed many people who use all caps either on a regular basis, or on occasion do manage to post in the correct fashion perfectly well. And as said before, manage to read and respond to all the many posts on GR which are not all in upper case.

As people have said before, there are many ways to enlarge text on here. Many free, and some which do come with a cost.

That way makes the site accessible to all, including those who find reading all caps posts difficult :-D

That childish emoticon was given to us by GR. who must deem it non offensive ;-)

The use of caps in the right context is not offensive, but all caps in posts, like it or not IS considered as shouting on the WWW, AND is frowned upon on many forums.
On some forums its not tolerated at all, no matter the reasons for posting in this way.

Some parts of posts all in caps which are directed towards a person (as seen in this thread) do come across as being rude, shouting & aggresive :-0

The assumption that capitals are easier to read is false. Our brain is much better at interpreting mixed text.

Have you ever wondered why most road signs are in mixed text?

So let me get this straight. Typing a message in capital letters is considered offensive but using a childish emoticon with its tongue sticking out is not?

I actually find your written tone in the way you are "speaking" to me as aggressive :-0 and speaks volumes regarding netiquette, etiquette. or plain old good manners :-(

As I have said, the question was ONLY about the size of the PAGE NUMBERS at the top and bottom of the pages.

It was really a technical question for Phil, to find out if it could be done. If they have made space for photos, a little matter like larger page numbers shouldn't be a problem.

I didn't learn netiquette. We learnt proper etiquette. As long as you keep to that you can't go wrong. Poking your tongue out at people indeed. Quite unnecessary.

Actually Georgina, ALL lower case would be wrong (lets not forget caps where the're needed) - but nevertheless lower case is easier to read than all caps ;-)

Widely used on the WWW, and widely adhered to on many forums. :-D

SOMETIMES NEED TO TYPE I N CAPITALS, SOMETIMES I increase the font size, whatever is most comfortable to my eyes. If you increase the font size too much the page is too large for the screen and you have to reduce it anyway to carry on.

Mostly I touch type and check it on screen.

But my question was, although everyone except Margee seems to have ignored it, 'could we have the page numbers enlarged so that it is easier to click on them.'
I had to increase the font size to 170 to do that. It's a nuisance, but you get to manage things..
