Totally agree, it just irks me when i see requests as a one liner, with no please or thank you.

Much the same when i hold doors open for people, then they just walk through in total silence.

"Another grumpy old bugga"

Where has all the civility gone.Totally different world to that i was brought up in.

Hi Sylvia.

Yes, totally agree with you. GR cant force people to say Please or Thank you.

I guess i was moreso ( just as a suggestion ) hoping that if it was implemented into the "Please read before posting" it might remind those who post a request, that good manners go a long way.

I always assumed it was us Aussie's that were rude. ;-)
Being an Okker and un-educated myself,i still had the up-bringing to say Please...... when i ask for something!!

O'h well...its probably just me being a grumpy old bugga :-(

Have a nice day

Tony :-D

Tony

I much prefer to see Please and Thank You, though I'm not sure that GR can force people to use either word.

I still think that a lot of people, newbies, really do not understand that it is other members who help them

........... though this in no way excuses them for not saying those important words.

*PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING*

I would like to see GR add the "Dont forget to add "Please" and/or "Thankyou".. to the "Please read before posting" help section on various board forums.

As i enjoy helping others ( as most do ) find their lost loved ones, i sometimes look at a thread on..... for instance "Find Ancestors"

eg:
Looking for Joe Blow born 1920 ( some Country )

Bill

I totally ignore these requests ( even though i can help in some cases )...because of two magic words. "Please" or "Thankyou"

So it would be nice if GR could add this. I know GR should not have to......but some folk are just plain ignorant.

Please or Thankyou is universal in any lanquage, and will get folk more help on the imformation they require in most cases.

Thanks.

Tony :-)
ps. Does anyone else agree..!!
