In 2007, after have only using this site for a few months, I was contacted by my Cousin. As children we had been very close (our Mums were sisters) his father had died in a prison camp during the last war.
His Mum remarried, a man who said he had been in the same camp as my uncle. From which time his step-father refused to let my cousin have anything to do with my family.
With both parents now died and now retired, my cousin decided to do some family research. Thats when he contacted me through "Hot Matches". As a result we were able to meet up several times during this past Summer, exchange family tales, getting to know each other again after 50+ years.
Saddly my cousin died just before Christmas 07/08, only months since we had brought together again. But not before we had been able to have many a cuppa and laugh together.
Now I need to find someone else out there to laugh and drink tea with.
