I was adopted 53 years ago and as my adoptive parents have now passed away I felt comfortable to start looking for information on my Birth mother.I came across Ann on Genes and she was trying to find someone from Greenock(where I was born)Imentioned my mothers name and her address on my birth certificate and it turns out that we are cousins!I know now I was 1 of 8 children and there are 5 of us left .I have spoken to a brother and cousin Ann and now have a photo of my mother. I look very much like her but as she died 13 years ago I have missed the chance of meeting her.I'm waiting to hear if the remaining brothers and sister would be interested in contact. My brother and cousin are quite excited and we have talked about meeting up in a few months when everyone has got their heads around this. .
It only took one contact on genes reunited so it just goes to show how lucky anyone could be.I would suggest to anybody just have a shot and you never know what you might find..Good news I hope as it has been for me. Jane (Helen,my birth name)
