Lynne From Up North !!

Lynne From Up North !! Report 24 Jul 2007 18:55

I would just like to say.... never give up!!! My great aunt by marriage died a couple of years ago and I want to include her in my family tree as she also happened to be one of my god mothers. I had very little information about her, so I spoke with her daughter-in-law, who was very helpful and pointed me in the right direction. She happened to mention that a family burial plot was in a church only a few miles from where I live, so on Sunday armed with paper and pencil off I set. I was amazed at just how much information I gathered from the headstones, not only how old people were when they died, but when they were born, where they lived at time of death and even if their children are buried with them. This has completed so much of my great aunts side of the family, it is definately more than I could have found from the net. So please don't ever give up, it just takes one chance conversation and it will come together. Good luck to you all!!!!! Lynne
